Industrial Controls Troubleshooting Technician

Role Snapshot Join a large industrial manufacturing operation in Carrollton, GA as an experienced Industrial Controls Troubleshooting Technician. You’ll be the person production calls when automated lines stall—hands-on, laptop open, quickly zeroing in on the electrical and PLC root cause, and getting equipment running again. A Day in the Life Your shift kicks off with a call from a production line. You connect to the PLC over Ethernet or the plant’s wireless network, review the logic, and pinpoint the fault. With ~80% of the site running on Siemens and the remainder on Allen‑Bradley, you’re comfortable navigating both to diagnose issues fast. You might load parameters to a replacement drive or make a small logic tweak to clear a bottleneck. Throughout the day, you partner with the shift supervisor to prioritize breakdowns and open work orders, then independently drive each task to resolution. Note: This is not a PLC programming role. You’ll work within existing programs for troubleshooting and make only minor logic edits when necessary. The work is 100% electrical/PLC-focused—mechanical technicians handle mechanical maintenance. What You’ll Handle

• Rapid response to electrical and controls-related equipment failures across the facility
• Direct connection to PLCs using a laptop via Ethernet or wireless
• Diagnostics on Siemens and Allen‑Bradley PLCs (majority Siemens)
• Logic review to identify root causes and clear faults
• Troubleshooting of control circuits
• Replacement, configuration, and parameter downloads for drives/VFDs
• Minor logic changes only when needed to restore operation
• Coordination with the shift supervisor to sequence calls and work orders
• Independent ownership of assigned assets and corrective actions
• Close collaboration with maintenance to sustain reliable production What You Bring
• Background as an Electrical Technician, Controls Technician, or similar industrial maintenance role
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-controlled machinery
• Ability to connect to and navigate Siemens and/or Allen‑Bradley platforms
• Skill reading PLC logic to support fault finding
• Proficiency in electrical/control circuit troubleshooting
• Experience with drives/variable frequency drives
• Confidence working independently on breakdowns
