Medical Technologist – Laboratory | Canton, GA Job Overview

• Position: Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist
• Location: Canton, Georgia
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• End Date: January 2, 2027
• Shift: Nights, 10-hour shifts
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Job Type: Travel Contract Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
• Must be a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist
• Medical Lab Technician candidates will not be considered
• Active certification through ASCP, AMT, or AAB
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing, and specimen handling
• Must be available to work required holidays
• Travel candidates only; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible Responsibilities
• Perform laboratory testing accurately and efficiently according to established procedures
• Analyze and report test results while maintaining quality standards
• Prepare, process, and evaluate patient specimens
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Perform quality control and troubleshoot testing issues as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records
• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support timely patient care Holiday Requirements Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays:
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day
• New Year’s Day And 1 minor holiday:
• Friday after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve
• New Year’s Eve Additional Details
• No on-call requirement
• Floating is optional
• Biweekly billing
• Compliance documents are due by the Wednesday before the Monday start

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

• Medical Lab technologist: 2 years (Required) License/Certification:
• ASCP or NCA or AMT or AAB or HHS (Required)
