Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliation using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections while maintaining accuracy.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify the integrity of financial data.
- Prepare financial reports, including bank reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and governmental accounting standards.
- Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while managing sensitive financial data securely.
- Support budgeting, credit analysis, and account analysis activities to provide insights into financial performance. Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and governmental accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and account reconciliation efficiently.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail for accurate data entry and account management.
- Experience with technical accounting tasks such as SOX compliance and working within various payroll or HRIS systems like Workday or Paychex is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
