Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanical Technician to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and modification of complex manufacturing machinery and plant equipment. This senior-level position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who can work independently, diagnose challenging mechanical problems, and help improve equipment reliability while supporting less experienced technicians. The role emphasizes strong mechanical expertise, preventive maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), workplace organization, and safe execution of maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities
- Independently plan and perform maintenance, repair, and modification of complex manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and perform equipment disassembly, repair, adjustment, and reassembly.
- Maintain and service conveyors, paint systems, chemical processing equipment, and other production machinery.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
- Interpret technical drawings, sketches, schematics, specifications, and written instructions to complete maintenance activities.
- Perform equipment installations involving air, gas, and rigging systems.
- Complete basic electrical repairs and calculations involving watts, volts, amps, ohms, and electrical load requirements.
- Apply foundational PLC and automated equipment knowledge when troubleshooting manufacturing systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plant support systems, including robotic and laser equipment where applicable.
- Identify equipment problems, recommend solutions, and communicate technical issues effectively to team members and leadership.
- Mentor and support junior technicians while promoting technical knowledge sharing across the maintenance organization.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles and overhead cranes after obtaining required certifications.
- Support 5S workplace organization and lead housekeeping audits.
- Support applicable quality and environmental management standards and initiatives.
- Complete special maintenance projects and other assigned responsibilities as required. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Five or more years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including start/stop circuits, relays, and motor starters.
- Ability to perform basic electrical load calculations.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently plan and execute complex maintenance assignments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial vehicle and overhead crane certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to communicate technical problems and solutions effectively in individual and team environments. Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Systems, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with NFPA and NEC standards and regulations.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing less experienced maintenance technicians.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Experience applying TPM and 5S principles within a manufacturing environment. Benefits

The employee must be able to use tools and equipment, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch as necessary to perform maintenance activities.
