Salary

$70,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position Overview We are seeking a Business Administrator to support the financial, human resources, and administrative operations of a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Downtown Atlanta. This role functions as the organization’s bookkeeper, HR administrator, and key administrative support, helping ensure accurate financial processes, smooth staffing workflows, and well-organized compliance systems. The organization works with an external CPA who prepares monthly financial statements and board-level financial reports. The Business Administrator is responsible for ensuring that internal bookkeeping, payroll processing, billing, HR documentation, and budgeting inputs are accurate, timely, and audit-ready. The position also provides occasional financial modeling and scenario planning to support leadership in making informed operational and financial decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping processes and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Coordinate payroll processing and ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Manage billing, receivables, and related internal financial processes.
  • Maintain organized HR records, employee documentation, and administrative workflows.
  • Support staffing processes and HR administration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and systems to support organizational compliance.
  • Prepare and organize financial information required by the organization’s external CPA.
  • Provide accurate budgeting inputs and support the budgeting process.
  • Help ensure financial and administrative records remain organized and audit-ready.
  • Assist leadership with occasional financial modeling and scenario planning.
  • Develop effective workflows that accommodate changing priorities and varying levels of activity throughout the workday.
  • Partner collaboratively with leadership on financial, HR, and administrative priorities. Qualifications
  • Strong bookkeeping, financial administration, HR administration, or related business operations experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with payroll, billing, receivables, budgeting inputs, and financial documentation.
  • Experience maintaining confidential HR, personnel, and financial records.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and administrative workflows independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, staff, and outside professional partners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment where interruptions and changing priorities are part of the workday.
  • Ability to maintain reliable, accurate, organized, and audit-ready systems.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
  • Genuine interest in contributing to the success of a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
