Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss statements. Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounting records are accurate and complete. Perform account reconciliations, establish new accounts, code invoices, and support the monthly close process. Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and respond to banking-related inquiries. Reconcile customer accounts Review accounts payable invoices to ensure payments are properly recorded and charged to the appropriate accounts. Support external audits by gathering account information, schedules, and supporting documentation. Prepare and file required federal, state, and local tax forms. Develop and maintain a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual covering accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Establish and implement standardized reconciliation procedures to improve consistency and accuracy. Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of new audit systems, policies, and procedures within the Finance department. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies. Work with accounting software vendors as needed to maintain and optimize the accounting system and recommend enhancements. Collaborate with other departments to provide accounting support, guidance, and training. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA is highly preferred 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Solid understanding of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Highly proficient with accounting software and comfortable learning and supporting new systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and provide accounting guidance and training.
