Job Summary
The Accountant II/III works under the direction of the Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting the department’s day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and contributing to the overall financial integrity of the firm. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
- Calculate, create, reconcile, and verify company accounts receivable transactions to maintain accurate accounting records
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure any issues are resolved
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget, and analyze quarterly variances against actual results
- Contribute to year-end reporting and annual audit
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls; maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of procedures and processes
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of integrity and discretion
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications &
Experience
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required
- 3-7 years professional accounting experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices
- Experience with general ledger functions, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
