Overview
The Senior Client Accounting Services (CAS) Accountant is responsible for managing accounting and advisory services for a portfolio of business clients across a variety of industries. This role serves as a trusted advisor to clients by providing accurate financial reporting, overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, and delivering insights that help clients make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will have approximately five years of accounting experience, including public accounting experience, and possess strong technical accounting knowledge, client relationship skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously. Responsibilities
Client Accounting & Advisory Services
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting engagements for multiple clients
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjusting entries
- Maintain client general ledgers and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned clients
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness
- Present financial information and explain accounting results to business owners and management teams
- Identify opportunities for additional advisory and firm services Accounting Technology & Process Improvement
- Utilize and support accounting software platforms
- Assist clients with accounting system setup, conversions, and process improvements
- Recommend technology solutions to improve efficiency and internal controls
- Support automation and workflow improvements within the CAS practice Payroll, Sales Tax & Compliance Support
- Review payroll reports and related filings as needed
- Assist clients with sales tax reporting and compliance requirements
- Coordinate year-end reporting and support tax return preparation processes
- Work closely with the firm's tax and audit departments to ensure seamless client service
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience, public accounting experience a plus Additional
Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office
- Strong knowledge of overall financial and internal controls to support a GAAP compliant environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a demanding, deadline driven environment
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and prioritize work
