What if practicing law could feel different? What if you could do meaningful work and leave the billable hours behind? At Nelson Elder Care Law, we believe great attorneys should be able to focus on what matters most: Helping people. Solving problems. Building trust. We are looking for an experienced Associate Attorney who is ready to take ownership of their work, manage a caseload independently, and become a trusted resource for both clients and our team. This is a role for an attorney who is confident in their ability to practice law, communicate with clients, make sound decisions, and move matters forward. You won't be sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone to tell you what to do. You'll own your cases. You'll guide clients. You'll support your team. And you'll make an impact. Probate experience is preferred, but we're looking for the right candidate to help our families navigate a difficult time in their lives. What you'll get:
- Direct client interaction starting immediately
- Hands-on courtroom and probate experience
- No billable hours
- Work that actually matters — helping Georgia families through some of life's hardest moments
- A culture built on collaboration and accountability, where the team genuinely has your back
- Why Nelson Elder Care Law? We're not a billable-hours mill. We're a firm that believes in doing right by clients and our people — and that starts with how we develop the attorneys who'll carry this work forward. From your first day, you'll have the opportunity to interact with clients, attend hearings, participate in strategy discussions, and build the skills necessary to become a confident, successful attorney. The primary responsibilities are to lead and oversee the client Probate experience, including Guardianship and Conservatorship, meet with clients, and advise and litigate cases as needed. What You'll Do:
- Lead and oversee client Probate and Guardianship Experience, overseeing all cases to ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
- Conduct client consultations and strategy meetings.
- Serve as point of contact for client legal questions that require an attorney.
- Provide legal advice and direction to clients and the Probate Team.
- Building trusted relationships with clients through clear communication, empathy, and responsiveness.
- Educating clients and answering questions to ensure understanding of the probate process and plan.
- Drafting, reviewing, and filing probate pleadings, petitions, motions, and related legal documents.
- Conducting legal research and developing case strategies.
- Representing clients in hearings, mediations, and litigation when necessary.
- Overseeing case progression to ensure matters move efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Collaborating with paralegals to provide an exceptional client experience.
- Assisting with accounts receivable collections and client account management as needed.
- Managing caseload with minimal oversight and working directly with legal team members to ensure clients’ goals are met within the expected timeframe.
- Providing proactive updates and guidance to clients throughout their legal journey. What We Are Looking For:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with probate preferred; litigation in other areas will also be considered
- Strong negotiation skills, including the willingness and ability to reconcile differences and find mutual wins
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- High emotional intelligence and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- A growth mindset and willingness to learn.
- A desire to build a long-term career helping families navigate life's legal challenges. Full posting: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/associate-attorney-probate-at-nelson-elder-care-law-llc-4442884224
