A confidential Atlanta-based law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a busy civil litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who wants hands-on responsibility across employment litigation and commercial disputes, with additional exposure to other civil matters as needed. - Manage active litigation matters with appropriate supervision, including calendaring, case strategy, and day-to-day execution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs and handle legal research with an emphasis on persuasive writing.
- Take and defend depositions and participate in court appearances and hearings.
- Drive written discovery, document review, and discovery motion practice as needed.
- Communicate with clients and opposing counsel and support settlement strategy and negotiations. LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION Location: Atlanta, Georgia. Schedule: In office 4 days per week, with flexibility for hybrid arrangements when appropriate.
Compensation
$130,000 to $160,000 base salary (dependent on experience and fit). REQUIREMENTS
- Active Georgia bar admission in good standing.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Approximately 2 to 5 years of litigation experience (candidates with 5+ years will be considered with reasonable salary expectations).
- Prior private practice law firm experience.
- Demonstrated experience with depositions and court appearances (hearings).
- Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills, including drafting briefs and managing discovery.
- Stable employment history (preference for candidates who have not moved firms every 1 to 2 years).
- Willingness to work primarily from the office and collaborate closely with partners and colleagues. PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Employment litigation and/or commercial litigation experience.
- Clerkship experience.
- Experience handling complex civil litigation matters.
- Exposure to both plaintiff-side and defense-side litigation.
- Interest in growing long-term with a practice and contributing to business development over time. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Annual billable target of 1,500 hours.
- Bonus eligibility begins once the billable target is exceeded; bonus is based solely on billable hours above the threshold.
