About the job

About Us BroadPeak Investment Group (BIG) is a multi-company investment platform that acquires, builds, and scales businesses across a diverse set of industries: mobility/EV, sports and entertainment, food and beverage manufacturing, hospitality and recreation, indoor entertainment / technology licensing, and education. Our active portfolio spans early-stage joint ventures to mature, multi-hundred-location franchise operations. We operate like a lean private equity shop with operating control — we don't just write checks, we run the businesses — combined with a family-office mandate that also covers the holding, real-estate, and personal entities of our principals. Our finance function has to move at operator speed, not fund-administrator speed — and increasingly at the speed of automation and AI. The Role We're hiring a hands-on Portfolio Controller to own accounting across the full BIG platform — every owned and majority-controlled company, every new startup and joint venture, and the family-office entities behind them. This is not a single-entity bookkeeping role. You will build, standardize, automate, and run the accounting function for a growing group of businesses that vary widely in industry, deal structure, and financial maturity: from newly-formed entities with no accounting history to mature franchise systems with decades of financial infrastructure. You will maintain the group's accounting practices, modernize them with automation and AI, and lead a hybrid U.S. and offshore team to deliver a timely, reliable close and clear reporting to management. You will report to the Chairman & CEO and the Chief Investment Officer, and work directly with the Investment team and company-level leadership — CEOs, GMs, and operators — across the portfolio. Location: Atlanta, GA — on-site. What You'll Own

  • Multi-entity accounting & close. Run monthly close, the general ledger, and financial reporting across all portfolio and family-office entities on a fixed cadence; build a standardized chart of accounts and templates so every entity rolls up cleanly to a BIG-level consolidated view; own AP/AR, payroll coordination, intercompany, and cash management for entities without dedicated finance staff.
  • Portfolio &family-officereporting. Produce consolidated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow by entity and rolled up, plus investment-level views for the Investment team; flag cash burn, working-capital issues, and covenant / loan-compliance risk early; support family-office reporting across holding companies, real estate, trusts, and personal entities with discretion; support deal teams with financial due diligence.
  • New entity & deal integration. Stand up accounting infrastructure for newly acquired or launched entities within 30–60 daysof close — chart of accounts, banking, and initial controls; coordinate with legal on entity-structure implications, including JV structures with domestic / international splits and multi-currency needs; support franchise-specific accounting (FDD financial disclosures, royalty tracking, unit-level economics).
  • Systems, automation& AI. Own the accounting tech stack across the group — QuickBooks Online for early-stage and smaller entities, scaling to NetSuite (or comparable ERP) as entities mature — and lead migrations cleanly; deploy AI and automation across the close, AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting, and anomaly detection to run a lean function at operator speed.
  • Global team leadership. Build, manage, and develop a hybrid U.S. and offshore accounting team; set the standards, workflows, and review structure that let a distributed team deliveran accurate, on-time close.
  • Controls, tax& compliance. Implement practical financial controls across entities that currently have none, plus a documented controls checklist used for every future acquisition; manage external tax and audit relationships as needed, per entity. What You'll Need
  • Systems — both ends of the spectrum. Hands-on experience with corporate ERP (NetSuite or comparable) and small-business accounting (QuickBooks) isrequired;you'verun both and migrated between them.
  • AI & automation —a must. Demonstrated, hands-on experience implementing and using AI-driven automation in a finance or business context. You can point to specific tools you deployed and the time and cost they removed.
  • Global team building. Track recordbuilding and managing offshore / distributed accounting teams for multi-entity or global operations.
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with meaningful time in private equity portfolio accounting, family-office accounting, or multi-entity corporate accounting (public accounting with PE / family-office clients also works), including standing up accounting functions from scratch.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and variety —you'llcontext-switch across manufacturing, hospitality, sports, and consumer franchise businesses in the same week — plus strong Excel / financial-modeling skills and consolidation and intercompany fluency.
  • CPA preferred, notrequired. Franchise accounting (royalties, FDD financials, unit-level P&L) is a strong plus.
  • High trust, high discretion. You'llsee cap tables, deal terms, and founder- and family-level financials across the platform. How You Work
  • Hands-on builder — you set up the systemand alsodo the work until the team is ready.
  • Operatorspeed —you deliver useful numbers on time, not perfect numbers late.
  • Automation-first — your instinct is to systematize and automate repeatable work.
  • Discreet and dependable — you handle sensitive information the way principals expect. What Success Looks Like — First 6 Months A clean, consolidated monthly reporting package delivered on a fixed cadence; a standardized chart of accounts and close process live across at least three portfolio entities; accounting infrastructure stood up for at least two newly acquired or early-stage entities; a documented financial-controls checklist adopted for all future acquisitions; an offshore team member or pod onboarded and productive; and at least one AI / automation win that measurably shortens the close or reduces manual effort. Compensation & Ownership Competitive base salary and performance bonus, plus an equity stake so you share in the value you help build across the platform. Compensation reflects the seniority and breadth of the mandate, and the role offers real room to grow into broader finance leadership as BIG scales.
