Our client is seeking a Construction Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting functions of a growing construction organization. While the role initially includes construction accounts payable responsibilities, the primary focus is on construction accounting, job costing, vendor compliance, and financial accuracy. This position offers exceptional career growth with the opportunity to expand into month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting leadership as responsibilities evolve.
Process construction-related invoices and maintain accurate accounting records.
Perform job cost coding and support project cost tracking.
Manage construction accounts payable and vendor relationships.
Review and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs), lien waivers, and vendor compliance documentation.
Monitor paid-when-paid payment requirements.
Assist with month-end close and general ledger activities.
Support project accounting and financial reporting.
Assist with the implementation and ongoing optimization of Procore.
Collaborate with project managers and accounting leadership to ensure financial accuracy.
Take on expanded accounting responsibilities as the role develops.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2–5+ years of accounting experience.
Construction accounting experience is required.
Strong understanding of:
Construction job costing
Construction accounts payable
Lien waivers
Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
Paid-when-paid construction payment processes
Vendor compliance
Project accounting
Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred.
Experience with Procore is a strong plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
