About Us We are a large, well-established general contractor located in Morrow, Georgia with approximately $150 million in annual revenue. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This is a key leadership role for a professional who thrives in a construction environment and enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day accounting functions. Position Summary The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll administration, job cost accounting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction accounting background, experience managing accounting staff, and a thorough understanding of job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and financial management within the construction industry. Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting and financial operations of the company.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Lead and mentor the accounting and office staff.
- Maintain accurate job costing and project financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate annual reviews and audits with the company's external CPA firm.
- Manage sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience required.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting highly prefered.
- Experience with Acumatica ERP software is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage accounting personnel and multiple priorities.
- Hands-on management style with a willingness to actively participate in daily accounting operations, not simply oversee them. What We Offer
